Constructive discussion with Prof. Dr. med. Dr. phil. Nikola Biller-Andorno, Professor of Biomedical Ethics and Director of the Center for Ethics at the University of Zurich

On March 19, 2026, Prof. Dr. phil. Nikola Biller-Andorno, MD (Professor of Biomedical Ethics and Director of the Center for Ethics at the University of Zurich), Dr. Denis Faoro, MD (Board Member of the Association Swiss Medical Oath, ASMO), and Prof. Bernhard Egger, MD (President of ASMO) held an extended discussion via videoconference. The conversation was extremely constructive, and since all participants share the same interests and goals regarding the well-being of patients and the Swiss healthcare system, a decision was made to pursue future collaboration. Professor Biller-Adorno will further integrate the Swiss Medical Oath into the medical curriculum at the University of Zurich, while Dr. Faoro and Prof. Egger will contribute as members of the sounding board for the “No Longer Patient” campaign (https://www.nolongerpatient.com). No Longer Patient aims to empower citizens to actively shape the healthcare system through their patient experiences, whether as patients, family members, or healthcare professionals. The intelligent system learns from this feedback and can thus help identify suboptimal processes in the healthcare system and improve them in collaboration with strong partners. The ASMO Board is very pleased about this future collaboration!
